London - Cairo

In The summer of 2019 Tracing Erased Memories was shown as part of Camden Fridge , with a new Iteration of a parallel walk between London And Cairo.

A one-on-one guided walk through central London while exchanging view with a person walking in Cairo. With headphones and a tablet, The walk is layered with selected moments of history overlapping with the real-time experience. The stories are personal recollections in the form of testimonies from people who were directly involved in the 2011 Egyptian revolution in downtown Cairo and the 2010 student protests in central London. Those two years form a pivotal moment in the political climate of both cities, as waves of resistance rose against austerity measures and the authoritative regime.
